Österreichisches Rotes Kreuz – Freiwillige Rettung Innsbruck (FRI)

The Österreichisches Rotes Kreuz – Freiwillige Rettung Innsbruck (FRI) is an association founded in 1907. Today nearly 100 employees are working in the different fields supported by over 600 volunteer workers. the home emergency call centre (called “Hausnotruf”) exists since 30 years and employs 16 persons: 4 technicians, 11 operators and the head of department. The home emergency system supports 4.500 clients in Tyrol 24/7. Since 2014 the FRI – Innsbruck established a department of R&D in the field of AAL and care management as well as development and training opportunities in health and social affairs for professional carers and voluntary workers. Due to the strong local roots in the field of social services, voluntary work, etc. the institution built up a network to all kind of local End-Users and End-User organisations.
